He’s no Adele (who is?) but retired NBA superstar Kobe Bryant got to try his hand at a hidden-camera prank with some help from Ellen DeGeneres.

As part of Wednesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Bryant participated in a practical joke involving a doctor who came to investigate the 37-year-old’s self-proclaimed profuse sweating issues. With host Ellen DeGeneres talking in his ear, Bryant went on and on about how much he sweats — at one point even pulling out a mason jar filled with his perspiration from “just the first quarter” — as the concerned doctor looked on with some concern.

It continued, with Bryant regaling the doctor with stories of his final game and admitting fellow teammates made fun of him in song. “Sweaty Kobe, okey dokey,” Bryant sang as DeGeneres egged him to more ridiculous heights.

As with most pranks, this one ended with the reveal and a hug from Bryant. “I’m not sweaty,” Bryant assured the doctor (with a little suggestion from DeGeneres).
