American Horror Story‘s Sarah Paulson will join the cast of the upcoming J.D. Salinger biopic, Rebel in the Rye, EW has confirmed.

Deadline first reported Paulson’s involvement in the project Tuesday, noting the actress will play Dorothy Olding, described as “the fiercely loyal agent who believed in the young Salinger from his earliest short stories and supported him throughout [Salinger’s] career.”

Paulson joins a previously-announced cast that includes Nicholas Hoult, who will play Salinger. Kevin Spacey, Hope Davis, Victor Garber, Zoey Deutch, and Brian d’Arcy James will also appear in the film, which will mark actor and TV helmer Danny Strong’s (Empire) feature directorial debut.

Rebel in the Rye‘s screenplay was adapted from Kenneth Slawenski’s biography, J.D. Salinger: A Life. The film will chronicle the author’s rise to prominence throughout the early 20th century, from his troubled youth and battling on the front lines of WWII to writing his most notable work, The Catcher in the Rye.

Paulson most recently appeared as prosecutor Marcia Clark in FX’s The People v. O.J. Simpson, a performance that earned her rave reviews. In addition to starring on every season of American Horror Story thus far, Paulson has also appeared in films directed by Todd Haynes (Carol), Jeff Nichols (Mud), and Steve McQueen (Best Picture-winner 12 Years a Slave).

Black Label Media is financing the project, and is reportedly set to begin filming this week in New York.
