Fantastic Beasts screenplay: Pottermore to publish following film release
There will also be a print edition from Scholastic
Fans won’t have to wait long after the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to read J.K. Rowling’s original screenplay. The film, which covers wizard Newt Scamander’s (Eddie Redmayne) adventures in the wizarding world of 1920s New York, will be in theaters everywhere Nov. 18. The next day, Nov. 19, Rowling’s screenplay will be published as an ebook on Pottermore, the website announced Monday. It will also be available in a print edition, via Scholastic.
Pottermore previously served as the home for Rowling’s short stories about “The History of Magic in North America,” which detail how American magic differs from its British counterpart, world-building that leads straight into the new film. Rowling recently tweeted that she saw a private screening of Fantastic Beasts, indicating the film is probably nearing completion.
