HBO has Given Bill Simmons’ anticipated talk show a debut date.

The popular and opinionated sports personality, who left ESPN last spring and inked an expansive multi-year deal with HBO in July, will serve as host of the talk show Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons. The weekly half-hour series, which was given a 20-episode order that begins June 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, will see Simmons going one-on-one with guests from the worlds of sports and pop culture, and includes field pieces in addition to his “signature commentary on current events.”

Any Given Wednesday also can be watched on HBO Now, HBO Go, and HBO On Demand.

“Bill Simmons represents a unique and distinct voice with a proven track record of challenging the norm and igniting debate and discussion on a wide range of topics,” said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo in a statement. “We are excited about the concept Bill and his team have developed for this show, which takes advantage of Bill’s intelligence, talent and insights.”

Added Simmons: “I’m excited about the show, I’m excited about the title and I’m really, really excited to drop my first F-bomb on TV. We are going to figure out nudity down the road, as long as it’s tasteful.”

Just Monday, the network unveiled the first show to spring from the Simmons deal: After the Thrones, a weekly recap show about Game of Thrones that is hosted by Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan from Simmons’ new site, The Ringer.
