Bethenny Frankel to host SiriusXM radio show

The B is back in a whole new way: Bethenny Frankel is launching her own radio show.

The two-hour weekly program, B Real with Bethenny, debuts May 2 on Bravo producer and Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM channel Radio Andy, which launched in the fall.

“Bethenny is a self-described unfiltered know-it-all, which makes her a perfect fit for Radio Andy,” Cohen said in the release. EW caught up with Frankel, who is excited to reach people on a platform that’s as uncensored as she is.

“It’s really a no-holds-barred environment,” says the entrepreneur and Real Housewives of New York City star, whose television talk show, Bethenny, was canceled in 2014 after one season. While she is using her time hosting the new show as a learning experience, Frankel says that B Real with Bethenny will be a completely different program. “I couldn’t just go rogue on my talk show,” she says. “It’s just going rogue, is what [the radio show] is, and I love that. It’s a zero-f—s nation.”

Frankel had originally planned to launch Radio Andy along with Cohen, but between her Real Housewives shooting schedule and running her business, she had too many commitments at the time. “Everything in life is timing,” she tells EW. “Now the timing is really right. I’m really excited.” After the current season of RHONY stopped shooting, Frankel reached out to Cohen. “I just said, ‘Alright, put me in, Coach. I’m ready to go.’”

The reality star describes the radio show as “an irreverent, inappropriate Seinfeld,” about anything and everything. “Sex, dating, men, relationships, business, Snapchat — just rants about ridiculous things,” she says. “Honestly, anything. The nothingness of it all.”

As far as guests, Frankel is looking for “people who are not afraid to be inappropriate and who know me and embrace my craziness, so it’s nothing formal at all.” She cites Wayne Brady, Kym Whitley, Taye Diggs, and Tamar Braxton — “people that I really laugh with” — as some of her favorite guests from her talk show. “I could talk to anybody, to be honest,” she says. “Everybody’s interesting to me. I just think people are interesting in general.”

But don’t expect any other Real Housewives from the start. “I’m sure, at some point, I’ll have the Housewives on,” Frankel says, but “I don’t want to go to that right away and do that every week; I want it to be unexpected.” But when she does open it up to her fellow Bravolebrities? “I’d love to have some of the Atlanta Housewives.”

“People have so many stresses in life, and life can be so stressful, you need an outlet — just a place to be ridiculous,” Frankel says. “It’s going to be completely absurd.”

B Real with Bethenny will premiere on Monday, May 2, at 10:00 a.m. ET on Radio Andy, Sirius XM channel 102, before moving to Wednesdays.
