Chris Stapleton gave Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” a country twist when he paid tribute to the late musician, who died April 21 at 57, at the end of his Saturday show at Berkeley, California’s Greek Theater.

“I’m going to try this,” Stapleton says in a fan-shot video from the concert. “We’re going to do it for a great musician that we lost recently.”

Prince first recorded “Nothing Compares 2 U” for The Family in 1985, and the track went on to find success in 1990 when Sinéad O’Connor released her own cover of it. Hear Stapleton’s rendition below.
