Legendary funk rocker Prince has died following a death investigation at his studio Paisley Park in Chanhassen, Minnesota, the Associated Press confirms. He was 57,

A death investigation had been conducted at Paisley park earlier in the day.

Jason Kamerund, the Chief Deputy of the Carver County Police department confirmed the investigation to EW.

The sheriff’s office responded to a medical emergency at the location on Thursday morning at 9:43 a.m., and confirmed someone had died on the grounds.

Last week, Prince entered the hospital after his jet made an unscheduled landing. Though he was sick with the flu, his rep told EW he was “fine”following the reports.

A rep for Prince did not respond to EW’s immediate request for comment.
