Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt are saddling up.
USA Today has released the first photos from Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming remake of The Magnificent Seven, showing Washington, Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Vincent D’Onofrio, Martin Sensmeier, and Byung-hun Lee as the new incarnations of the gun-slinging septet.
“These guys are gunslingers, and when they walk into the room, you notice them,” Fuqua told USA Today. “These are people you want to be with, or you want to protect you.”
Fuqua’s version retells the 1960 John Sturges classic, which starred Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen as part of a group of gunmen hired to defend a small Mexican village from attack. The original Magnificent Seven was in turn based on Akira Kurosawa’s iconic 1954 film Seven Samurai.
