Amy Schumer is a lot of things: stand-up comedian, actress, writer, and producer. But when she appeared on The Tonight Show Tuesday, Schumer chose to introduce herself as “a famous plus-size model,” cracking a joke about her controversy with Glamour magazine.

Host Jimmy Fallon professed familiarity with the brouhaha, but Schumer explained it anyway for the benefit of any viewers who weren’t caught up. Glamour included Schumer in a roundup of plus-size “women who inspire us,” but Schumer publicly took issue with the term on Instagram in early April. She noted that first, she’s not really “plus-size,” and second of all, the label should probably be retired anyway.

“I love Glamour magazine, honestly,” Schumer explained to Fallon. “They’ve been so nice to me. They’ve done so many great things for women, but what I learned is people really don’t like being categorized by ‘plus-size.’ We don’t need these labels. We don’t need them. It should just say what size you are, right? Why?”
