Are you not entertained? Russell Crowe isn’t necessarily known for his hilarity, a point that became the centerpiece of his opening monologue on Saturday Night Live — and reinforced by the fact that this was his first official visit to Studio 8H as host. He joked about some of his funniest movies — where was L.A. Confidential? — and insisted that his Nice Guys co-star and recent SNL guest Ryan Gosling had finally inspired him to host because, clearly, “anyone can do that.”

The Nice Guys does look funny, and it might represent a pivot point for Crowe’s career. His SNL episode was a mixed bag, however. If you had to define his comedy sweet spot after his appearance, it would be the female anatomy — human and duck. His German psychiatrist on Match Finder was a clinical expert on the female form, his “Uncle’s Friend Terry” was a connoisseur of duck delicates, and his Henry VIII hologram was historically accurate in his obsession to impregnate any modern woman with a male heir. One response to this might be — in the words of Terry — “Hell yeah, playa!”

At this point in the season, the field for Mr. Saturday Night is narrowing to nothing but heavyweights, so it will be interesting to see where Crowe lands. Last week’s host, Peter Dinklage, debuted in the second spot, which is never promising. The Game of Thrones star scored 33 percent, but he trails Ariana Grande, who repeated at No. 1. She seemed to pick up some support from Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, who dropped eight points but still finished third. Larry David rebounded slightly to take fourth place, leaving Melissa McCarthy in last.

Previous vote:

Ariana Grande                   37% (-21 pts)

Peter Dinklage                   33% (—)

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler    13% (-8 pts)

Larry David                        10% (+2)

Melissa McCarthy                7% (+0)

Our rules are simple: Who was the best, most memorable SNL host this season? More specifically, who do you hope gets invited back next year? Whose show had your boss, your mom, and your roommate still giggling on Monday morning? It’s subjective, of course, but let’s reward the guest hosts who brought something special to the table. So far, we’ve eliminated McCarthy, Adam Driver, Jonah Hill, Ryan Gosling, Ronda Rousey, Amy Schumer, Chris Hemsworth, Tracy Morgan, Matthew McConaughey, Elizabeth Banks, Miley Cyrus, and Donald Trump.

Below, see one representative clip from each of the five hosts, just as a small taste of their recent performances. You’re not voting on this one sketch alone; be sure to consider the entire episode. Make your pick below, and the host with the least support will be eliminated; the other four will advance to compete against Julia Louis-Dreyfus on April 16. Ultimately, we’ll dismiss the less memorable hosts and crown a new Mr. or Ms. Saturday Night in May. Watch and vote below.
