Michele tweeted a pair of photos showing off two tattoos she received as a tribute to her late grandmother, who died earlier this week, and her former Glee costar and real-life boyfriend, Cory Monteith.
“For you Grandma.. I love you forever,” she tweeted alongside a photo of a tattoo of a coffee cup on her ring finger. The actress then followed up with a photo of the number five — a reference to the jersey number worn by Finn Hudson, the character Monteith played on Glee from 2009-2013 — tattooed under her arm. “And one more for my quarterback,” the tweet says.
The 29-year old actress was the girlfriend of her former Glee costar at the time of his death from a drug and alcohol overdose in 2013. “Today we remember the laughter and joy you brought into our lives every day. We think of you always and love you so,” she previously tweeted on July 13, 2015 — the second anniversary of Monteith’s death.
Michele was inked at Tattoo SEEN in the Bronx, New York. A post on the shop’s official Instagram, shared Tuesday morning, reads: “Having the pop culture tastes of a fourteen year old girl finally paid off. I can’t stop smiling… I hope I didn’t creep you out, thank you for trusting me.”
Michele also spent some time with another former Glee star during her New York City stay, reportedly attending a performance of Hamilton as her BFF, Jonathan Groff, made his final appearance as King George during the Broadway hit’s April 9 show. The pair also recorded a video for the production’s pre-lottery show, Ham4Ham.
