Melissa McCarthy gets physical in her new movie, The Boss. Along with getting into a boob fight with Kristen Bell, one of the most awkward-looking stunts involved an extreme, teeth-baring mouthguard. Naturally, that’s the scene she and James Corden decided to parody on Wednesday’s episode of The Late Late Show. The two of them, along with other guest Kristen Schaal, put in mouthguards for their couch interview. This, predictably, made the interview much more difficult, and not just because all three had to wear bibs to catch their drool.

“It’s amazing, you really can’t talk about anything seriously,” Corden said.

The three then tried to drink water out of mugs, and that didn’t work. McCarthy found a slight workaround: splashing handfuls of water directly into her mouth.
