TBS just removed another roadblock on The Detour‘s path to becoming a show that’s here to stay awhile.

Which is kind of a convoluted way of saying that, in a nice sign of confidence, TBS just renewed The Detour for a 13-episode second season less than a week before the season 1 premiere hits the air.

The single-camera comedy, which was created by Samantha Bee and Jason Jones, the latter of whom also stars in it, centers on a road trip taken by the dysfunctional Parker family. The show premieres Monday at 9 p.m.

“I’m very excited to be going back to making my favorite show not yet on TV and look forward to making outrageous demands in my rider for the second season,” quipped Jones in a statement.

It’s been an especially good week for Bee, whose new late-night show, Full Frontal, received an additional 26-episode order on Monday, which will take the show through the& 2016 election.
