A long time ago (November 2015) in a galaxy not so far away, the Screen Junkies team debuted their first honest trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, using the little teaser footage that had been released at the time. Now that the full movie is out on home release (and fans no longer have any right to complain about spoilers), the official honest trailer has arrived, exploring whether or not the blockbuster lived up to all the hype.

With “diet Spielberg” (a.k.a. J.J. Abrams) at the helm, the Honest Trailers crew argue about whether The Force Awakens was a successful return to Lucas’ epic world or just a “film so desperate to recapture the magic of the first Star Wars, it practically is the first Star Wars.” Still, they do manage to agree on a few of The Force Awakens’ high points, including the return of Admiral Ackbar, Kylo Ren using the Force to stop a blaster bolt, and Poe Dameron’s beautiful face.
