By now, everyone’s read Harry Potter, right? J.K. Rowling’s massively popular fantasy series has spawned eight blockbuster films, a highly anticipated stage play, its own website that continually builds and expands the universe of the series, and even a Hollywood theme park. It’s safe to say that everyone is familiar with Rowling’s world of witches and wizards, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t want to re-enter it time and again.

It wasn’t until late& November that Audible began to sell downloadable Harry Potter audiobooks, and they’ve been flying off the virtual shelves faster then Nimbus 2000s since then. At then end of March, Audible has announced that the series has reached the milestone of 1 million downloads, just four months since becoming available.

“These strong Audible sales figures demonstrate the continuing strength and appeal of the Harry Potter series on any platform — print book, eBook or digital audiobook,” said Susan L. Jurevics, Chief Executive Officer of Pottermore.

The North American audiobooks feature Grammy-winning voice work from actor and singer Jim Dale. The UK audiobooks are read by actor-comedian Stephen Fry, and the German audiobooks are read by actor Felix von Manteuffel.

The illustrated version of the books have begun to roll out as well; Wednesday Scholastic and Bloomsbury released the illustrated cover of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, due out in October.
