It’s an Oscar-charged edition of Honest Trailers, with the film that won Leonardo DiCaprio his first Academy Award getting a comedic makeover thanks to the ScreenJunkies team.

Directed by Alejandro “Hey, that’s not Scorsese!” G. Inarritu, The Revenant is, according to the trailer, “epic Oscar bait featuring a true story about a historical figure, plus a son he never had, and a poetic ending where he finally gets the revenge the real guy never had.”

The trailer also lampoons Emmanuel Lubezki’s cinematography (“Did they just put the camera down and forget it was rolling?”) as well as DiCaprio’s Oscar win, noting that “after decades of losing to his contemporaries” the actor “literally scratches and claws” his way to an Academy Award.

Aside from DiCaprio’s performance and Lubezki’s cinematography, The Revenant won Inarritu his second straight Best Director Oscar at February’s ceremony.

Ahead of the film’s April 19 DVD and Blu-ray release date, watch The Revenant‘s full Honest Trailers remix above.
