Preacher TV series: Seth Rogen reveals comic book character Arseface
- TV Show
Arseface lives up to his name.
Seth Rogen, who developed AMC’s Preacher with Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin, revealed the first look at the comic book character brought to life on the series.
In the comics, Arseface (a.k.a. Eugene) is the son of an abusive sheriff whose face is the result of surviving a suicide attempt. Actor Ian Colletti portrays the character in the first look image from AMC.
“I am proud to present…Arseface,” Rogen wrote on Twitter. “I’m really so happy & proud we were able to make [Preacher]. I think if you’re a fan of the comic you’ll love it, and the same if you’re not.”
Preacher stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, a conflicted preacher who returns to his hometown in Texas, a mysterious entity from which grants him a “highly unconventional power.” Ruth Negga (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) plays Jesse’s ex-girlfriend Tulip, while Joseph Gilgund (The Last Witch Hunter) plays an Irish vampire named Cassidy.
The series premiered its pilot episode at the SXSW Film Festival ahead of its premiere on May 22 on AMC.
