Nashville: Thirtysomething scribes to take over ABC drama
- TV Show
A good show on ABC is about to become an amazing show on ABC: Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick of thirtysomething fame are expected take over the series if it gets picked up for a fifth season.
The talented duo who also executive produced Once and Again and My So-Called Life would replace Dee Johnson as showrunners of the drama, EW has confirmed.
TV Line was the first to report the news.
Though ABC renewed 15 of its shows for the 2016-17 season last week, Nashville wasn’t among the pickups. The drama averaged 4.3 million viewers last week with its “Now and Forever” episode featuring the nuptials of Deacon (Charles Esten) and Rayna (Connie Britton).
The fate of several other ABC shows like American Crime Story, Marvel’s Agent Carter, Castle, Dr. Ken, and The Muppets, among them, remains uncertain.
