Live By Night release date for Ben Affleck film set
- Movie
Ben Affleck stars as Batman in this weekend’s blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but he’s not done directing, either.
Warner Bros. announced Tuesday that Affleck’s Live by Night, an adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s Prohibition-era crime novel, has been scheduled for an Oct. 20, 2017 release. Like Argo and The Town, Affleck also stars in the film, as the prodigal son of a Boston police captain (Brendan Gleeson) who grows to be a criminal gangster. The stacked cast also includes Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana, Chris Messina, Scott Eastwood, and Miguel, among others.

Live by Night wasn’t the only film to get a 2017 release date from Warner Bros. on Tuesday. Annabelle 2, the sequel to 2014’s spin-off of The Conjuring, is set for May 19, while the Ice Cube/Charlie Day comedy Fist Fight is scheduled for Feb. 17. The studio has also reserved Aug. 11 for an untitled event film.
