For comics legend Stan Lee, choosing his favorite Marvel movie cameo must be like choosing a favorite child. Each is special in its own way, from his hot dog vendor in X-Men to his retired general in Captain America to his strip club emcee in Deadpool.

Nevertheless, Lee did single out both his favorite and least favorite blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearances while speaking at Silicon Valley Comic Con over the weekend.

According to, Lee is partial to his cameo in Avengers: Age of Ultron: “I loved the one that I did … when I want to have a drink that Thor is drinking,” he said. “It’ll be too strong for me, I think. And I drink it, and in the next scene they’re carrying me out.” (Refresh your memory of the scene here.)

As for Lee’s least favorite cameo, he joked that he didn’t get to flex his acting muscle enough in 2002’s Spider-Man, in which he witnesses a fight between Spidey and the Green Goblin.

“Everybody is looking up going ‘ooh,’ and I’m one of the guys looking up going ‘ooh’ … for one second,” he said. “And I resented that because it didn’t give me a chance to show the full power of all my acting. … I had a long talk with the director [Sam Raimi] after that. He apologized, of course. I think in the next one, I was looking at another accident and they gave me another second to go ‘ooh,’ like that.”
