Amy Schumer left a $1,000 tip for the 'Hamilton' bartender
- Stage
History has its eyes on Amy Schumer, who not only attended Hamilton for the second time in five months over the weekend, but also left a $1,000 tip for the theater’s bartenders.
Schumer’s latest trip to see Lin-Manuel Miranda’s game-changing musical was documented heavily on her social media accounts, but the breakout moment came courtesy of Madeleine DeJohn, a bartender at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, where Hamilton is performed nightly.
“And then @amyschumer comes into your work and does something amazing,” DeJohn wrote on an Instagram photo that showed the $1,000 tip. The pic has since gone viral.
On Twitter, Schumer was asked by a reporter for CBS if she had any comment on the generous tip. “Lots of love to my fellow bartenders and artists,” she wrote. “I’m grateful to them and the cast and crew for another great night.”
