Batman v Superman: Henry Cavill punches Jimmy Kimmel
Jimmy Kimmel knows his audience. Interviewing Henry Cavill on St. Patrick’s Day, Kimmel knew that many people would be watching the show drunk in bars with the sound turned down, so he dreamed up a sketch to take advantage of that.
“The show is on in bars, and you can’t really hear what’s going on,” Kimmel said. “So if you’ll indulge me, I’d like you to punch me in slow motion. I’ll go flying back that way, and then we’ll play it back in fast motion, and it’ll hopefully freak everybody out.”

So Kimmel and Cavill pantomimed an argument, as if they were Stephen Colbert awkwardly bristling with Casey Affleck. Then Cavill slow-punched Kimmel, who scooted his chair back into the screen behind him, which was made to look like it shattered. Then Kimmel’s trusty sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez, ostensibly playing the Wonder Woman role here, mimed kneeing Cavill in the groin.
When played back in fast motion, the fight did indeed resemble something out of Cavill’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. No word yet on how many drunk viewers were fooled.
