Born to Be Blue: Ethan Hawke plays jazz musician Chet Baker
Born to Be Blue
For jazz musician Chet Baker, music was everything. So when he lost his ability to play the trumpet as the result of a brutal attack, he was forced to imagine his life without everything he’d worked for.
In an exclusive clip from the upcoming film Born to Be Blue, in which Ethan Hawke portrays Baker, we get a glimpse into just how dark things got. The good news is that Baker famously went on to play again, and Born to Be Blue, which first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, follows his story from an accomplished 1950’s jazz musician to a lost man and back again.
