Hamilton cast visits the White House
- Stage
You wanted to be in the room where it happens? You’re in luck.
As previously announced during last week’s #Ham4Ham show, the cast of the Broadway sensation Hamilton is spending the day in Washington, where they’ll host a student workshop, Q&A, and performance of selections from the musical at the White House. And although we can’t exactly jump on the party bus or get through White House security, thanks to star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, we don’t have to be bitter about not being in the room where it happens like Aaron Burr.
During his trip around D.C. (appropriately titled #Hamiltrip), Miranda took to Twitter to chronicle his sightseeing…complete with his own commentary, of course. What else would you expect from a hero and a scholar?

Miranda wasn’t the only one sharing his #Hamiltrip experience. His father, Luis, shared some proud dad photos, and the cast made sure to aptly chronicle their tour of the White House.
According to the official press schedule, first lady Michelle Obama will welcome the cast of Hamilton at 1:45 p.m. ET. Later, at 5:30 p.m. ET, fans can watch President Obama deliver opening remarks before the musical performance. You can watch both via a livestream here, or below.
