Saturday Night Live - Season 42

Ever since Lace first appeared on this season of The Bachelor, fans noted her striking resemblance to Saturday Night Live cast member (and Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation with at a Party) Cecily Strong. Even Strong commented on their similarities, writing, “I’ve never been texted more about having a twin on TV and I’m actually 1000% flattered. If Lace and I don’t win this f—ing thing, I’m gonna kinda blame myself but also I’m gonna more blame all of these other women holding us back. Stop being jealous. Let me and Lace be us. Kisses and roses — that’s gotta be our focus right now.”

Now, just before the season finale of The Bachelor, Strong and Lace are connected again. During Saturday’s episode of SNL, Strong didn’t play Lace by name, but still appeared during Weekend Update as “The Drunkest Contestant on The Bachelor,” a character who many said looked and sounded like the breakout contestant.

“I felt a connection with you, Colin, ever since I saw an opportunity to be on TV. I’m getting emotional,” Strong said to Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost. She quickly added, “You think I’m crazy. You do.” (During her time on the show, Lace was often labeled as “crazy.”)

Shifting gears at a breakneck pace, Strong continued: “You’re such a good guy, and I know you’re worth it. And I left something really good, because I thought it would maybe be something really great.” Asked what the “something great” was, Strong replied, “Software sales in the state of Colorado.”
