WGN America announced Friday that Outsiders has been renewed for season 2.
The original scripted drama follows the Farrells, an off-the-grid Appalachian clan who have resided in their wilderness home for the past 200 years. As the family goes head-to-head with corporations that intend to take over the land, the story explores the relatable push-and-pull struggle between the marginalized and the privileged.

“It’s got all these contemporary contentions between opposites,” EP Paul Giamatti previously told EW. “These people can almost be seen as kind of libertarian,” he added, comparing the series to “a biker movie crossed with The Deer Hunter.”
Still in season, Outsiders airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on WGN America — next week’s episode, “It’s Good to Be King,” sees the clan mourning a death as they look within their own ranks for the culprit.
