The stage is set for pop star Kesha and country singers Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett. The three artists will guest star on ABC’s musical drama Nashville after its midseason return, EW has confirmed.
Kesha, Ballerini, and Rhett will all portray themselves, with each appearing in a separate episode.
Ballerini, known for her debut single “Love Me Like You Mean It,” and Rhett, known for the disco-tinged tune “Make Me Wanna,” will perform their respective hits on the show.

For Kesha, whose full name is Kesha Rose Sebert, news of her cameo comes amid her legal battle with producer Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, better known as Dr. Luke. Kesha is trying to escape her recording contract with Dr. Luke, whom she alleges has “sexually, physically, verbally, and emotionally abused” her. Dr. Luke has denied the allegations in court and on social media.
Kesha has been dabbling in acting lately, with small roles in Jane the Virgin and the Jem and the Holograms movie. The singer told EW last year, “It’s fun to explore different art mediums and right now my [music] career is kind of on hold. I’m finding other ways to express myself and have outlets and connect with my fans.”
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the guest appearances.
Nashville returns March 16.
