Street Fighter V is set to debut its first new character later this month, along with some additions that should help newcomers settle in and long-time players hone their skills.

Capcom has detailed the game’s newest fighter, Alex, who will be made available as part of the game’s March update. Alex, shown above, first appeared in the franchise during Street Fighter III. He will play as a big-time grappler, with a close-range combat focus. Alex’s skills will include Overhaul, Rage Shift, and Heavy Hammer moves, which can be seen in more detail on Capcom’s blog.

Along with the new character, the developers will also introduce a Challenge Mode for the game. The mode will include tutorials of beginner, advanced, and pro difficulties for all 16 characters, as well as trials for players to hone their combo aptitude.

Additionally, the update will allow for more ways to spend Fight Money in the game’s In-Game Shop, an Online Rematch option that allows players to agree on playing a best of three set in the Ranked Match mode, and improvements to the Battle Lounge. Capcom has also said that several bugs will be addressed in the update, all of which can be found on the Capcom blog.

Street Fighter V is now available for the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, and is set to introduce new content in the coming months, including a Story Mode previously revealed by Capcom. Capcom will announce the release date of the March update later this month. For more on the game, check out EW’s launch impressions.
