SXSW: Ethan Hawke, John Travolta, Karen Gillan head West for In a Valley of Violence — exclusive

The new Western In a Valley of Violence has an intriguing cast — Ethan Hawke, John Travolta, Karen Gillan, Taissa Farmiga, James Ransone — and an equally interesting writer-director in the lanky form of Ti West, a filmmaker previously best known for horror films The Innkeepers and House of the Devil.

Produced by Blumhouse and set for release this fall, the film stars Hawke as a mysterious drifter who ventures into a near-abandoned mining town to exact his revenge upon the perpetrators of an unspeakable act. The supporting cast includes Toby Huss (Halt and Catch Fire), Burn Gorman (Pacific Rim), and indie-horror director Larry Fessenden.
