The Mummy may have unearthed its newest cast member. Annabelle Wallis is in talks to play the female lead opposite Tom Cruise in Universal’s reboot of the monster franchise, EW has confirmed.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the news, the Peaky Blinders and Annabelle actress would portray a scientist in the movie, an action-adventure set in the present day. In addition to leading man Cruise, the cast also boasts Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service) in the title role.

Directed by Alex Kurtzman from a script by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus), The Mummy represents the first installment of an interconnected movie universe based on Universal’s classic creature features, which include Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Invisible Man. Johnny Depp recently came aboard to star in a reboot of the latter film.

Wallis’ other upcoming films include Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur movie and Zack Whedon’s thriller Come and Find Me.

The Mummy is scheduled to hit theaters June 9, 2017.
