In 2006, the Cities of Love film series launched with Paris, Je T’Aime, a collection of shorts directed by filmmakers from around the world. Directors like Joel and Ethan Coen, Gerard Depardieu, Wes Cravon, Alfonso Cuaron, and Gus Van Sant each helmed a short film about love in the City of Light, all compiled into one feature-length film. Producer Emmanuel Benbihy returned to the concept with the 2008 film, New York, I Love You, featuring shorts directed by Fatih Akin, Natalie Portman, Brett Ratner, and more. Now, the Cities of Love series has set its sights on Rio de Janeiro.

The new trailer for Rio, I Love You once again teases 10 short love stories, all set in Rio and woven together by transitions. Andrucha Waddington, Paolo Sorrentino, Fernando Meirelles, Stephan Elliott, John Turturro, Guillermo Arriaga, Sang-soo Im, Carlos Saldanha, Jose Padilha, Nadine Labaki, and Vicente Amorim all contributed. The large ensemble cast includes Jason Isaacs, Emily Mortimer, Rodrigo Santoro, and Harvey Keitel.
