J.J. Abrams is returning to space — this time in our own galaxy.

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens director is an executive producer of Moon Shot, a web series documenting the Google Lunar XPRIZE, a $30 million worldwide competition to land a robot on the surface of the moon that can transmit high-definition video and images back to Earth before Dec. 31, 2017. Nine short films will follow some of the 16 privately funded teams — from tech experts in Silicon Valley to IT specialists in India — as they embark on their missions, exploring their lives and what drives them to want to reach the moon.

Directed by Oscar-nominated director Orlando von Eisiedel (Virunga), Moon Shot will be available on Google Play on March 15 and on YouTube on March 17. Watch the trailer above.
