Elliott Smith tribute album to feature Jesu/Sun Kil Moon, J. Mascis, Waxahatchee
The musical legacy of Elliott Smith will be honored with a new tribute album.
Say Yes!, from American Laundromat Records, has tapped Jesu/Sun Kil Moon, J. Mascis, Amanda Palmer, Waxahatchee, and more for a 15-track album of new takes on the late singer-songwriter’s songs.
There are four different pre-order packages available, ranging from the base level Baby Britain Bundle ($13) with a CD, sticker, and button, to the Say Yes Bundle ($50) with all that, a vinyl copy, download card, cassette tape, T-shirt, a button set, and early shipment.
The label previously released I Saved Latin!: A Tribute to Wes Anderson in 2014, which featured Juliana Hatfield’s spin on “Needle in the Hay.” Smith’s original version appeared in Anderson’s 2001 dramedy, The Royal Tenenbaums.
