The new Ghostbusters trailer is Ray Stantz-approved.
After Sony released the first trailer for the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon, former Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd applauded the trailer on Twitter.
“I told you GB 3 was good,” he wrote. “Trailer just the beginning of a fun-filled summer with my paranormal sisterhood.”
Aykroyd is set to make a cameo in the new Paul Feig-directed film, although he won’t be reprising his role as Ray Stantz. Original 1984 cast members Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts will also appear in the new Ghostbusters. (Rick Moranis said no.)
“None of us lobbied to be in the third movie,” Aykroyd told EW in October. “We all felt that this Paul Feig concept was so strong that we didn’t have to be in it. But he called me. And of course, I said, ‘I want to help in any way I can.’”
The new Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15.
