Priyanka Chopra’s Quantico character Alex Parrish hasn’t been completely ruled out as a suspect in the New York City bombings that took place on the new ABC series, but her role in the upcoming Baywatch movie will certainly be that of the villain.
“I wanted to play a bad guy for a really long time,” Chopra told EW on the Oscars red carpet Sunday. “And I’m doing that in Baywatch so I’m excited.”
The Indian actress, who won the Miss World competition in 2000, feels lucky she never had to fight for a role she wanted. “I’ve been very fortunate that I’ve had people come to me with amazing characters and amazing movies,” Chopra says.

Immediately following Sunday night’s Academy Awards, Chopra headed out to Miami to begin filming on her latest project, the Baywatch remake that’ll hit theaters next May. Though the movie’s already a week into production, Chopra looks forward to joining her castmates — who include Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Kelly Rohrbach, and Alexandra Dadarrio — on the beach.
“It’s Miami and it’s Baywatch and it’s such an amazing cast,” she adds on the red carpet. “It’ll be great.”
