Oscars 2016: Year in Film supercut that opened Academy Awards released online

There’s no official award for Best Supercut, but the Academy Awards posted its “Year in Film” video that opened the 2016 Oscars ceremony on Sunday.
In addition to featuring the array of nominees, many more of the year’s finest were given shout-outs. Snippets of Beasts of No Nation, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Pitch Perfect, Sisters, and Straight Outta Compton were featured alongside films like The Revenant, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Martian.
Though this is not the difinitive recap of cinema in 2015, it did give proper tribute to the favorite droid of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, BB-8. Watch the video below.
