Hollywood’s biggest stars turned out in their best designer duds at the 88th Annual Academy Awards and as always, one of the burning questions of the night was who wore what — and who wore it best?

PEOPLE Now host Andrea Boehlke sat down with EW correspondent Nina Terrero and PEOPLE Style and Beauty director Andrea Lavinthal to break down the best looks from the red carpet.

Their verdict? Mindy Kaling looked magnificent in a regal train from designer Elizabeth Kennedy, while Alicia Vikander’s Disney-inspired Louis Vuitton dress with silver embroidery and a playful hem was a definite win. Also on their best-dressed list? Saoirse Ronan looked in regal emerald green Calvin Klein, while Star Wars: The Force Awakens lead Daisy Ridley owned the red carpet in a shimmery custom Chanel Haute Couture number.

There were other standouts, too: Naomi Watts stunned in an sequined, strapless dress accessorized with a slew of flawless diamonds, while Charlize Theron was red-hot in Christian Dior. Lady Gaga radiated elegance in a sleek white pantsuit and Olivia Munn opted for a radiant orange design by Stella McCartney, making for a night of stars that took style to a whole new level.
