Sarah Michelle Gellar is celebrating her casting in the Cruel Intentions sequel pilot with another blast-from-the-past photo.
News broke Wednesday that the star of the original 1999 film has officially joined NBC’s pilot, reprising her role as Kathryn Merteuil. Gellar posted an early Throwback Thursday photo of herself, director Roger Kumble, and producer Neal Mortiz.
She continued the reveling Thursday by sharing another #TBT, with a pic of the original cast at the film’s kick-off dinner. She also posted a photo of the film’s script, bearing the movie’s original title: Cruel Inventions.
NBC’s Cruel Intentions pilot takes place about 15 years after the events of the movie, with Kathryn trying to establish dominion over both Valmont International and Bash Casey (Taylor John Smith), the son of her late stepbrother and a woman she wronged long ago. If the pilot is ordered to series, Gellar would be a series regular.
