Comedy Central’s @midnight With Chris Hardwick will make late-night history at SXSW. The improv game show will air a full episode live via Periscope from Austin, Texas, co-hosted by EW. It will be the first time a late-night show will be broadcast exclusively on the video streaming app.

The live airing features comedians Doug Benson, Arden Myrin, and Chris Cubas. Cubas is from Austin and won the @midnight‘s #PointsMe challenge last year, becoming the first fan panelist to compete on the show.

“There’s no better place than SXSW to host the first-ever live Periscope episode of TV’s most social late night show,” said Comedy Central CMO Walter Levitt in a statement. “We are excited to host hundreds of @midnight fans live in Austin, and to bring it to thousands more from the comfort of their homes.”

Adds Joanne Park, head of TV partnerships at Twitter, “We are so pleased to work with Comedy Central on this inventive use of Periscope, which will offer @midnight fans the opportunity to enjoy the entire show live, exclusively on Periscope and Twitter. Periscope allows anyone to share a moment as it’s happening, and in celebration of SXSW, fans can now experience @midnight in a new way.”

Anyone with a SXSW badge can see the show live free at The Parish. It takes place March 11, on the first night of the Interactive Festival. Doors open at 8 p.m. CT and the show begins 9 p.m. CT.

Those not in Austin can watch on their browser, or by downloading the app on the App Store or Google Play.

@midnight With Chris Hardwick typically airs Monday through Thursdays at midnight E.T. on Comedy Central.
