Dr. Ken has recently recruited some guest stars from the comedy Community, and now the ABC medical/family comedy has signed up someone from the comedy circuit.

Jeff Ross will appear in an episode airing this April as Ken’s cocksure college buddy Doug (Ross), who, after many years of dues-paying, is now a successful stand-up. He encourages Ken (Ken Jeong) to follow his lifelong dream by telling jokes on the stage during an open mic night at the Laugh Factory.

A staple of the Comedy Central Roasts, Ross starred in a Comedy Central stand-up special last summer in which he roasted prison inmates. His recent TV guest credits include Kingdom, Drunk History, The Simpsons, and Family Guy

Jeong’s fellow Community castmates Joel McHale and Danny Pudi popped up on the Feb. 5 episode of Dr. Ken, and Jim Rash will guest-star next month. In addition, Fresh Off the Boat star Randall Park will appear in an April episode.
