The Weeknd was joined by a special guest when he performed on Friday’s edition of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The singer brought out Lauryn Hill for a surprise appearance during his performance of “In the Night” on the late-night show, introducing her halfway through the performance.

Their duet came a few days after Hill did not perform with the Weeknd at the Grammys, as had been expected. Her reps said in a statement to EW that the performance “was intended to be a surprise and unfortunately due to its last minute nature, was unable to come to fruition.”
