Vince Vaughn is such a good liar that he tells the truth.

Playing Box of Lies on Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Vaughn handily defeated host Jimmy Fallon in the late-show game Box of Lies by being honest — albeit in a way that seemed completely fictitious.

The object of the game is simple: pick a box and describe its contents to an opponent, either by telling the truth or lying completely. Vaughn grabbed what turned out to be a baking dish filled with crayons and an Incredible Hulk action figure. But the way he outlined the object to Fallon seemed so fake, the host assumed Vaughn was lying.

But while Vaughn’s truth-telling skills were on-point, he won the game by sussing out Fallon’s obvious lie during the next round. “You insult me with these lies,” Vaughn said, making Fallon into the Box of Lies loser.

“I’ve been beaten!” Fallon said. He then fell to his knees in regret, before Vaughn reassured him in a way that recalled Swingers. “Get up here. He’s still the champ. You’re the champ,” Vaughn said, holding Fallon’s arm up high. Jimmy’s the big winner.
