Additional casting has been announced for the residents of Bikini Bottom, as viewed through the periscopic lens of Nickelodeon’s upcoming The SpongeBob Musical.

The forthcoming stage adaptation of the hot sponge property — which will star newcomer Ethan Slater as SpongeBob Squarepants and Lilli Cooper as Sandy Cheeks — has also added three new faces to the cast: Gavin Lee as Squidward, Nick Blaemire as Plankton, and Danny Skinner as Patrick.

A few more names are in the ensemble as well: Juliane Godfrey, Jesse JP Johnson, Lauralyn McClelland, and Allan K. Washington.

As EW previously reported, The SpongeBob Musical follows one fatalistic day in Bikini Bottom, when the town is thrown into chaos after a nearby volcano threatens to erupt. Only one sponge steps up to save the day, backed by a score of original songs from artists including John Legend, Cyndi Lauper, Panic! At the Disco, They Might Be Giants, T.I. and David Bowie.

Before it heads to Broadway, The SpongeBob Musical will play Broadway in Chicago’s Oriental Theatre from June 7 through July 3. Tina Landau directs, with a book by Kyle Jarrow and choreography by Christopher Gattelli.

Of the new principal cast members, Lee has the most extensive Broadway credits, most notably having appeared as Bert in the original cast of Mary Poppins. Blaemire starred on Broadway in Godspell and Cry-Baby and composed the short-lived show Glory Days. Skinner will make his Chicago and Broadway debut as Patrick.
