  • Following up on her roles in Gone Girl and We Are Your Friends, Emily Ratajkowski has joined Natalie Dormer, Ed Skrein, and Stacy Martin in the thriller In Darkness. Anthony Byrne is directing the film, which he wrote with Dormer. It concerns a blind musician (Dormer) who’s pulled into the London underworld after hearing a murder in the apartment above her.   • The Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me has added Annie Ilonzeh to its cast. The Empire actress will portray Kidada Jones, who was engaged to Shakur at the time of his death in 1996. Benny Boom is directing the film, which stars newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. in the lead role. Shooting is underway in Atlanta.
  • Ben Hardy, the British actor who will play Angel in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, has joined Elle Fanning, Bel Powley, and Douglas Booth in The Storm in the Stars, a film about the love affair between the poet Percy Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin (who, as Mary Shelley, would write Frankenstein). Wadjda helmer Haifaa Al-Mansour is directing from a script by Emma Jensen. [Deadline]
  • Justin Kirk, Alicia Silverstone, and Tom Cocrel are the newest cast members of The Tribes of Palos Verdes, the coming-of-age drama based on Joy Nicholson‘s YA novel. Kirk replaces Stephen Moyer, who recently exited due to a schedule conflict. The story centers on two teenagers who move to the titular beach community with their parents and try to adjust to their new surroundings. Brothers Emmett Malloy and Brendan Malloy are directing.
