There will be a new face in the mysterious town of Wayward Pines when the Fox thriller returns this summer. Djimon Hounsou has been cast as a series regular for the show’s second season.
Hounsou will play CJ Mitchum, one of Wayward Pines’ original residents. Mitchum is a thoughtful historian with a vast knowledge of what’s really going on in the town, and must make a very pivotal decision.

Though he started his career as a model, Hounsou has proven his acting chops time and again in various successful movies. He’s been nominated for two Academy Awards for his roles in Blood Diamond and In America, and has recently had parts in hit films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Furious 7.
His spot in Wayward Pines will be his first television role since lending his voice to the title hero in the short-run Black Panther series in 2010. Before that he had notable recurring roles on Alias and ER.
