Keira Knightley in talks to lead Barbra Streisand's Catherine the Great biopic

Barbra Streisand‘s Catherine the Great biopic may have found its star. Keira Knightley is in early talks to play the 18th century Russian ruler. Streisand is directing from Kristina Lauren Anderson‘s screenplay, which led the 2014 Black List. The story details Catherine’s humble beginnings and her assumption of power following the assassination of her husband Peter III. Gil Netter (Life of Pi) will produce. [The Wrap]
Adepero Oduye has been added to The Dinner, which also features Richard Gere, Rebecca Hall, and Chloe Sevigny. Oren Moverman is directing and also adapted the novel by Herman Koch for the screen. The film centers on two couples — Paul and Claire Lohman (played by Steve Coogan, Laura Linney) and Paul’s brother Stan (Gere) and his wife Barbara (Hall) — who uncover terrible secrets about their children and are divided as to how to handle the situation. Alexander Fehling and Berenice Bejo are set to star in Three Peaks. Directed by Jan Zabeil, Three Peaks is a family drama that takes place in the Tirolean Alps. [Variety]
