No stranger to a violent, power-hungry plot, Jason Momoa is set to star in the upcoming Netflix/Discovery drama Frontier, and EW has your exclusive first look.

The hour-long, six-episode series follows the chaotic quest to command North America’s 18th century fur trade, where business fast turns violent. The atmosphere is not unlike Game of Thrones‘ war-torn Seven Kingdoms, where Momoa notably played the fearsome Khal Drogo. Here, he stars as Declan Harp alongside Alun Armstrong (Braveheart) and Zoe Boyle (Downton Abbey), as well as Liboiron.

Helmed by director Brad Peyton (San Andreas), the series was created by Rob and Peter Blackie and is currently shooting in Newfoundland, Canada. Frontier is due out later this year.
