Many people claim they’ll go to extreme lengths to be with the one they love, and for Emma Watson’s Colonia character, that means voluntarily joining a dictator’s cult. The dark love story takes place in 1970s Chile, at which time the country is experiencing a civil war. In the latest trailer for the movie — which Yahoo premiered Wednesday — Lena (Watson) endures brutal daily tasks as a member of Augusto Pinochet’s following in order to reunite with her boyfriend Daniel (Daniel Brühl) at the inescapable Colonia Dignidad.

Lena works in the garden, lies about her relationship, and endures multiple slaps to the face, all in the name of God. The lovers’ journey started out politically charged though, having met at a street rally in support of their county’s current president, and ends with them wandering through the fortress’ dark tunnels that bear no similaities to the Tunnel of Love.
