Grammys 2016: Meghan Trainor wins Best New Artist
Meghan Trainor took home a Grammy for Best New Artist Monday night.
“I have to thank L.A. Reid for looking at me like an artist instead of just a songwriter,” Trainor said when accepting the award before shouting out her parents and the Grammys through tears.
Trainor rose to fame when she brought booty back in “All About That Bass” during summer 2014, and followed up the self-love anthem with a lineup of hits including “Lips Are Movin,'” “Marvin Gaye,” “Dear Future Husband,” and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.” Her January 2015 debut album Title hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
