After 30 years, the babysitters are back.
Adventures in Babysitting is headed to the Disney Channel, inspired by the wildly popular and hugely formative 1987 film beloved to babysitters and babies-sat everywhere. Now, Disney has updated the family comedy for 2016 and slated it as the network’s next original movie, set to premiere this summer.
EW has an exclusive first look at the first trailer for the movie, which stars Sabrina Carpenter (a downright scene-stealer on Girl Meets World) and Sofia Carson (recently of the behemoth Disney Channel original Descendants, as Evie).
The duo play competing babysitters Jenny (Carpenter) and Lola (Carson), whose night supervising four kids goes haywire and forces them to conquer the city and its very babysitter-unfriendly threats while they search for one of their missing wards.
John Schultz directed the film from a script by Tiffany Paulsen; a re-imagining of the Adventures in Babysitting title has been in the works in various iterations for years, with Raven-Symoné once attached to star in a version greenlit in 2006.
